Dry Martini for the Wise Old Parrot pocket square

Scroll down for Dry Martini Recipe

This wise old parrot is named after Sir Frederick John Horniman who was once the oracle of the jungle, no book was large enough to accommodate all his stories. Luckily, he bought a museum to store them instead. If he were here now on this Saturday night, I imagine he would be sipping on a martini telling us about his adventures.

Dry Martini

To make this drink you are going to need:

  • 50ml Dry Gin. (I used Fishers gin, its slightly salty and herbaceous flavours work well in a Martini)
  • 15ml Dry Vermouth. (I used Dolin)

Instructions:

Place all ingredients into a mixing glass, fill with ice and stir for around 30 seconds, the longer you stir the smoother the flavours of the gin and vermouth will become. Strain into a chilled martini glass and garnish with either two olives or lemon peel.

Finally enjoy!
